Dialogue Meetings
The Bach Network UK Dialogue Meetings offer indepth discussion and consideration of topics related to Bach studies and Bach performance. An extremely effective format was introduced for the second Dialogue meeting, whereby the full text of papers was made available to registered participants several weeks before the meeting. This meant that authors could give shortened presentation at the meeting. A Respondent then gave a prepared critique to the presentation and paper to open up the issues. The author had a chance to respond to the Respondent's comment and then participants continued the discussion with prepared or spontaneous questions. 'Dialogue' is a genuine description of the extent and depth of the discussion we experienced that weekend. We will certainly be using a similar format for forthcoming Dialogue meetings. We hope that you will consider attending and lending your mind and voice to the issues. If you are unable to attend, and if you did attend, please continue the dialogue by using the UB articles and Dialogue reports as points of departure and post your comments on the Discussion boards.
